normally, awesome. the food, particularly palak paneer and the chicken tikka masala are terrific. today however, despite placing the order and getting email confirmation at 12:48pm, called the restaurant a few minutes ago looking for my food and they said they just got the order at 1:48pm... so....thank u grubhub for this?!?!

I am never disappointed with a meal from Saffron Thread. My order is always correct, and the delivery person always extends sincere thanks for my business. The food is always tasty and well prepared, and the menu has a diverse variety of options. Very Good.

Great food, every time. I don't do delivery: I do pickup as this restaurant is less than a block away from my work. Thus, this review is mostly based on the food. The food is delicious and keeps me coming back for more every day. Some of my favorite dishes were: The Saffron Special Naan is amazing!!! I crave it when I'm at home in Brooklyn. The Tandoori Chicken is succulent and juicy and very flavorful. The Lamb Biryani is very good, with the perfect amount of spiciness to it. The Garlic Naan is amazing as always. They also have a lunch buffet where you can come in and pick up a combo meal with a couple vegetable dishes and a meat dish on rice, without waiting for things to be cooked. Besides the food, the staff is very friendly. My first time there, the man that works there was extremely patient and explained the lunch buffet as well as the food in it to me. Extremely friendly and helpful staff.

I have been ordering from here for the past few months and I have to say it is damn good. Every thing I have ordered has been awesome--I can't even believe it. the lamb biryani is amazing the vindaloo is hot and smoky--the way i like it. In fact i would go so far as to say that this is the closest thing to real Anglo-Indian food i have had in the city. Great job to these guys, i'll be a regular for as long as the quality and flavours remain.

WARNING WARING PLEASE THIS FOOD IS ADDICTIVE: I think this is the best fried rice i have ever ordered from a restaurant. The food was great, It also got here on time. This is no joke, i ordered the same fried rice twice in one day. That's how much i enjoyed eating from this place. If you love or like spicy food ask them to make the vegetable fried rice spicy with chicken.

Great food and very nice management. Chicken Kadai was delicious. Great addition to the downtown Indian restaurant scene. Edit (02.28.2013) Small suggestion to the management team. Recent dishes I've ordered have a layer of grease/oil floating at the top. Please rectify this issue if possible. Best of luck in getting the new restaurant up and running.

I am not a review-writing sort of a person but I had to. I can't wait to re-order again! Hands down one of the tastiest restaurants that serve Indian food in Manhattan at a very affordable price. Baingan bharta and paneer dishes are my absolute favorites. I wish I lived closer to this place so I could order it more often
